Dr. Jeff Pittman wins the Robert F. Newton Award

NACAS ROBERT F. NEWTON AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

AT THE 2011 ANNUAL NACAS CONFERENCE

Orlando, FL – –In recognition of his efforts in the Auxiliary Services profession, Dr. Jeff Pittman of Regent University has been honored by the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) with the Robert F. Newton Award for Distinguished Service.

Dr. Pittman has been an active member in NACAS for many years, serving on the Board of Directors, both regionally and nationally.  “This award is a fitting tribute to Jeff’s dedication to NACAS and to its members,” says Dr. Bob Hassmiller, Chief Executive Officer, NACAS.

“Jeff is known for his humility, positive perspective, and his willingness to go beyond prior to being called upon,” says Ron Martel, NACAS President Elect.

The Newton Award was presented on October 23, 2011 at the NACAS 43rd Annual Conference.

The Newton Award is the association’s most prestigious award recognizing an individual who has displayed extraordinary and outstanding service to NACAS and the profession of Auxiliary Services. Dr. Pittman was selected for his efforts in the field of Auxiliary Services and his dedicated service to the NACAS association both regionally and nationally.

Established in 1969, NACAS is a nonprofit higher education association serving auxiliary services and student support services professionals at over 900 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland.

NACAS provides extensive networking opportunities, professional development programs and timely professional publications that help foster the continued growth and enhancement of the auxiliary services and student support services profession in higher education.

NACAS is a volunteer-driven association, governed by an elected board of directors, representing the best in college and university administrative leadership, whose decisions chart both the short-term course and strategic goals of the Association.
